Each package has 4 strands of edible collagen casing 30mm diameter, which can make approximately 16lb / 7.25 kg per strand. Alternative to hog or sheep casings, and can be used for fresh or smoked sausage. Features uniform sizes to make filling easier for delicious sausages, smokies and coils of meat. Made from beef protein, these casings require no preparation for use , recommendation is to only fill the strands 90% full. Recommend a 19 - 25mm stuffing horn, non tapered.No rinsing required, ready to use.Fill to approx. 90% full as you will to be able to link and or enough sapce to hang over a rod in your smoke house.Avoid water contact as the casing will come away from the sausage, ie water bath or ice water cool down after hot smoking.
